COMPETITION PAUSED UNTIL FURTHER GUIDANCE IS RECEIVED FROM HUD
🚨 WIREGRASS CoC (AL-508) FUNDING UPDATE
​
On June 1, 2026, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) officially released the FY 2026 Continuum of Care (CoC) Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). The national competition is now open, and applications are due to HUD by August 26, 2026.
​
The FY 2026 NOFO includes several significant changes and places increased emphasis on helping individuals and families achieve long-term housing stability through treatment, recovery, employment, and self-sufficiency strategies. The Wiregrass Continuum of Care (AL-508) is currently reviewing the NOFO requirements and evaluating opportunities for local providers.

ESG Funding
​The Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) program is designed to provide financial assistance and support to help prevent homelessness, provide emergency shelter, and facilitate the rapid re-housing of individuals and families who are homeless. The ESG Program is designed to assist people with quickly regaining stability in permanent housing after experiencing a housing crisis and/or homelessness.
